About the Recipe

Sometimes the simplest recipes are the most satisfying. These homemade tortilla chips turn our soft Leaven Heaven flour tortillas into crispy, golden wedges with just a little oil and oven time. They’re perfect for snacking, sharing, or pairing with your favorite salsa and guac — proof that fun food can still feel fresh and wholesome.

Ingredients

8-count Leaven Heaven flour tortillas

Olive oil, for brushing or spraying

Salt, to taste


Optional seasonings: garlic powder, chili powder, taco seasoning, or cinnamon sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges. Arrange in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Lightly brush or spray both sides with olive oil and sprinkle with salt (and any optional seasoning).

  3. Bake for 8–12 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until golden and crisp. Remove from oven and cool slightly — chips will continue to crisp as they set.

  4. Serve with salsa, guacamole, or your favorite dip.


Leaven Heaven Flavor Variations


Garlic Powder Chips:

After brushing tortillas with olive oil, sprinkle lightly with garlic powder and salt before baking.


Chili Powder Chips:

Season with chili powder and a pinch of salt for a mild, warm heat. Add a touch of smoked paprika if you want extra depth.


Taco Seasoning Chips:

Sprinkle lightly with taco seasoning before baking. Go easy — flour tortillas pick up seasoning fast.


Cinnamon Sugar Chips:

Brush tortillas with oil or melted butter, then sprinkle with a cinnamon–sugar mixture (about 1 Tbsp sugar + ¼ tsp cinnamon per 8 tortillas). Skip the salt for this version.


Tip: Season before baking for even coverage, then taste once baked and adjust with a light finishing sprinkle if needed.
