Ingredients

1 slice Leaven Heaven Sourdough Citrus Pound Cake

2–3 Tbsp Maple Strawberry Chia Jam (recipe below)

Whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), to taste

Preparation

  1. Warm the pound cake slice slightly, if desired, for a softer texture.

  2. Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of slightly warmed up maple strawberry chia jam over the top of the cake.

  3. Finish with a generous dollop of whipped topping.

  4. Serve immediately while the jam is still warm for a cozy, brunch-style dessert.

Maple Strawberry Chia Jam

Ingredients

600 g frozen strawberries

80 g chia seeds

60 ml maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Add the frozen berries to a small saucepan over low to medium heat.

  2. Cook for 7–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully defrosted, soft, and juicy.

  3. Mash the berries with the back of a fork or potato masher to your desired texture.

  4. Stir in the maple syrup while still warm and mix well.

  5. Remove from heat, add the chia seeds, and stir thoroughly so they’re evenly distributed.

  6. Leave to cool and thicken in the fridge before using.

Leaven Heaven Notes

This quick jam can be made w/ any frozen fruit you like. I prefer it with mixed berry myself, but my boys adore strawberries, so mom makes strawberry. LOL
